Phideaux

outer banks fishing charters Phideaux

We are a family owned and operated fishing vessel. The Phideaux fishes year round for offshore gamefish (tuna, dolphin, wahoo, marlin). Most of the year we are based out of Outer Banks Marina Marina. Please call Capt. Jamie at (252) 473-8051 for bookings.

We generally leave the dock at five a.m., and return between four and six p.m. Offshore gamefish can be found from fifteen to sixty miles from the inlet, so running and fishing times will vary from day to day. The fish we expect to encounter are tuna, dolphin, wahoo, marlin and sailfish, with a chance to catch king mackerel, cobia, shark, striped bass and blue fish. The striped bass/bluefish trips are generally run between November and March, call for details.

All you need to bring is what you need to eat and drink for the day, appropriate clothing (it may be 100 degrees or 25 degrees), tip for the mate (twenty percent). Even though we have enough tackle for three boats, you are welcome to bring any you may have. We will use it if you wish. The ships store at The Outer Banks Marina has all the supplies you will need. A fish cleaning service is available and affordable.

Captain Jamie Reibel has been fishing out of Oregon Inlet for twenty years. He was the mate on the Phideaux from 1988 until 1995. Jamie and his father bought the Phideaux in 1995, when Jamie took over running the boat. That same year Jeff Reibel was hired as mate. Jeff has been with us ever since and has become one of the best mates in the business. Jamie and brother Jeff both graduated from East Carolina University. Jamie is married to Abbey and they have a daughter named Waverly. Jeff is married to Anne and they have a son, Owen. The whole crowd can sometimes be seen on the dock in the afternoon.
